Keeping things simple can be a great design choice sometimes, too.

For the new website for Virginia Metal Restoration, we took a cue from the work they do best.

Virginia Metal Restoration takes a hands-on approach to restoring wood, metal, and stone for museums, universities, banks, law offices, and more.
But what really makes them different is the fact that clients work directly with the craftsmen doing the work - no middlemen necessary. As a local, family-owned business, it was immediately clear to us how much they care about the quality of the work they do.

So to highlight the craftsmanship of what they do, we kept the website clean, minimal, and a little upscale, with big project photography doing most of the talking.

With a modern visual direction, the site was designed to reflect the caliber of the spaces Virginia Metal Restoration serves. Because when your work is all about the details, your website should be, too.

Williamsburg Flight Center has been a family-owned business for years, offering scenic air tours over Williamsburg and running a flight school that’s helped launch pilots into impressive military and airline careers. They’ve built an incredible reputation—but their website wasn’t capturing what made them unique.

So instead of just giving them a “modern” redesign, we leaned into the excitement of aviation and really tried to pinpoint what makes them so special.

We wanted visitors to immediately feel at ease knowing they would be well taken care of, especially considering the Flight Center’s impeccable safety record and commitment to creating excellent pilots. With a refreshed aesthetic that draws a bit of inspiration from the golden era of flight, we captured that same excitement they have for aviation that they wish to share with the community.

A website should do more than just look great… it should get people through the door. 🍻
That’s exactly what we built for Billsburg Brewery.

A Historic Triangle favorite deserved a website that helped establish them as a true destination. We delivered on that promise with an updated color palette, modern typography, and playful details that capture the energy of Billsburg’s community.

But the graphics weren’t the only things that were upgraded.

Instead of juggling updates across multiple platforms, Billsburg can now manage their Facebook events in one place, and those events automatically appear on their website. Less work for their team. More reasons for people to stop by.

Now, their site functions as good as it looks!

Most businesses want to blend in with their competitors.

This client wanted to do the exact opposite.

When local business Virginia Lawn and Landscaping approached us, they wanted to avoid the traditional landscaping color scheme to really make them stand out in a sea of yellow and green.

Instead of copying their competitors, we built a brand experience that reflects who they are. After years of growing almost entirely through word of mouth, they’d already proven that great service speaks for itself. Their reputation was built on honest work, reliability, and treating every customer like a neighbor.

Those qualities drove this design, something with retro-inspired charm that feels warm and familiar, but is also professional enough to stand up to the competition.

The headline says it all - big enough to get the work done, small enough to do it right.

We recently launched a new website for Firefly Scenic Studio, a Richmond-based studio that specializes in scenery, sculptures, and other decorative and thematic elements. For this site, we worked with their existing logo to create a look that felt cohesive, but still fresh! We really wanted to push the “storytelling” aspect, so we animated the logo and some additional dotted line elements that move as you scroll, guiding the audience down the page💡
